Our Wagtail Vineyard sits in the heart of Wilyabrup, where the region’s first wines were born. Its ironstone-rich soils give rise to wines that hum with energy - wild, flinty, and electric. Each evening, the ocean breezes cool the vines, tightening the fruit and creating a natural tension that pulses through every glass.

Stones + Thunder began when we left South Africa to build something new - a family legacy grounded in authenticity. We didn’t arrive with a dynasty or a grand estate, just a single block and a belief that if we listened closely enough, the land would speak for itself.

Our role is to translate, not control. We harvest for freshness, guide gently in the cellar, and let oak frame rather than dominate. Every decision preserves the wild clarity of this vineyard - that rare moment when precision meets pulse.

All three Stones + Thunder wines - Calm Before the Storm Chardonnay, Echoes of Fury Cabernet Blend, and Heavens Awaken Cabernet Sauvignon - share that same DNA. They are different expressions of one place: vivid, mineral, and alive.

And the world has noticed. Calm Before the Storm was awarded Trophy for best Margaret River Chardonnay at the James Halliday Australian Chardonnay and Cabernet Challenge, while Echoes of Fury took Trophy for Best Cabernet Blend at the Margaret River Wine Awards. Most recently, Heavens Awaken earned 93 points at the IWSC, marking our arrival on the global stage.
